MTH 260 - Foundation of Geometry for Teachers Credit Hours: 3 This course includes the study of synthetic, analytic, vector, and transformational geometries through properties of geometric figures, measurement, construction, conjecture and proof and tessellations. Problem solving and communication are continuing themes of this course. Manipulatives (including MIRA, Geoboard, Tangrams, attribute blocks and compass) , calculators, and computer software (including Logo, Geometer’s Sketchpad and a word processor) are used extensively as tools to develop geometric concepts. Cannot be used as a mathematics elective for the mathematics major or minor.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or better in MTH 220 . Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 2
