ENG 101 - Integrated Reading and Writing Credit Hours: 4 This course will satisfy the requirements for English 100. The purpose of this course is to prepare students for English 110 and increase their reading proficiency for all other content courses. Students will engage in the reading and writing processes. They will also learn how to independently read and understand academic texts, and critically respond to the ideas presented in those texts via well-organized, coherent written essays. Required of first-year students who score 13-14 on their reading ACT subscore and whose directed self-placement survey recommends ENG 100. Students must receive a grade of C or better in this course in order to progress to ENG 110 .
