HIT 170 - Electronic Health Records Credit Hours: 3 Introduces the student to the basics of intranet vs internet, privacy, security, internal/external use/sharing of electronic health information, electronic health records, and personal health records. Students are provided the opportunity to utilize software in the completion of HIM processes, such as record tracking, release of information, registries, quality improvement, clinical and administrative applications, and decision support applications.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or better in HIT 100 and CIS 101 or instructor permission. Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0
