HIT 210 - Diagnosis Coding II Credit Hours: 3 Continuation of HIT 110 . Application, evaluation, and sequencing of advanced primary and secondary diagnosis codes (ICD-10-CM) according to current coding regulations and guidelines. The students are provided the opportunity to utilize software in the completion of HIM processes, such as determining the accuracy of computer assisted coding assignments and recommendations of corrective actions and identifying discrepancies between supporting documentation and coded data., development of appropriate physician queries to resolve coding discrepancies, complication comorbidities, major complication comorbidities, present on admission and hospital acquired condition indicators, and application and evaluation of diagnosis related groupings.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or better in HIT 110 . Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0
