BMS 231 - Human Genetics w/Laboratory


Credit Hours: 4
A survey of genetic principles in humans with emphasis on molecular genetics and human genetic abnormalities causing diseases and behavioral changes. A portion of the course requires students to research, report on, and discuss current topics in human genetics. The laboratory emphasis is on techniques and skills that expand the understanding of bioinformatics, such as comparative genomic analysis, functional genomic analysis, and genome annotation.

Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or better in BMS 110  or BIO 121 .
