BMS 298 - Introduction to Undergraduate Research Credit Hours: 3 This course is designed to prepare students for independent undergraduate research. It provides hands-on experience with the scientific method, exposure to scientific literature, practice in essential laboratory skills and techniques, methods to data analysis, and proper scientific record keeping. Through these experiences, students will develop a stronger understanding of the sciences and gain a deeper appreciation for how research is carried out in a laboratory environment. The course may be repeated to a total of 6 credit hours.
Prerequisite(s): BMS 110 or BIO 121 or BIO 122 or concurrent enrollment. Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 3
